History Made: Hostivař Celebrates First-Ever CROSSDOCK Extraliga Title!

The 2024/2025 ball hockey season has come to a close, and its final chapter is a golden one for HBC Hostivař. The Prague-based team conquered long-time powerhouse HC Kert Park Praha in the finals and, after an astonishingly dominant playoff run, celebrates its first-ever championship title.
Undefeated in the Playoffs
Hostivař dominated the final series in the shortest possible time. They opened at home with a convincing 7:1 win over Kert Park and secured a second point after a dramatic shootout victory. The decisive third game was played on their opponent’s turf, delivering another thrilling battle. Kert Park didn’t give up easily, but Hostivař once again held their nerve – Jan Čejka scored in overtime to become the hero of the series.
“The win tastes even sweeter knowing we stayed perfect throughout the playoffs. Every single player was fully committed to the team’s goal. We put in tremendous work. Beating a team like Kert Park, who had dominated the league for seven years, is truly something special,” said Hostivař head coach Jan Krtička.
While Kert Park fell short of winning their eighth title, under the leadership of David Kuna, they showed once again why they remain a force in the league. “Congratulations to Hostivař on the title. The finals were fast, physical, and high quality. We’ll learn from this and come back stronger, continuing with our philosophy. Maybe the pressure is off now,” said Kuna, also newly named Head Coach of the Czech men’s national team, and awarded Coach of the Season.
